Job title: Electronics Designer & SI/PI Simulation Engineer

Your role:
In this role you have the opportunity to accelerate innovation and participate in the creation of new healthcare products that matter. Together with a multidisciplinary team you will define, design, realize, integrate and verify complex electronic circuits that are part of one of our healthcare products or systems.

You are responsible for
  • Design, realization and verification of analog and digital electronic circuits and systems
  • Modeling and simulation of circuitry
  • Signal integrity simulation and analysis of high-speed PCBA design interfaces
  • Power Integrity simulation and analysis of power delivery networks
  • Translating simulation results into functional and physical requirements/constraints for board layout
  • Application of safety and quality standards that apply to electronic systems in the healthcare domain
  • Delivering input for project plans, e.g., making effort estimations based on requirements for the project deliverables
  • Documenting requirements, design and verification of circuits/systems/products
  • Communication of technical progress towards stakeholders
  • Staying informed of developments within the field of expertise and making proposals how to build relevant competencies in the team

You are a part of
The Electronics Systems and IoT department is part of Philips Innovation Engineering and located on the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven (the Netherlands). Our department is an integral part and differentiator of almost all Philips products and services, delivering world-class hardware platforms, analog, mixed signal and RF designs, medical devices, power supplies, connectivity modules and development and engineering services.

Our team supports exploratory work, fast realization of prototypes as well as effective product development, by applying in depth knowledge of the most innovative connectivity solutions, integrated platforms and standards, in combination with an Agile development approach. You will work in a team of about 100 (senior) electronics engineers and architects.

To succeed in this role, you must have
  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in analog and digital electronic product development
  • Affinity with signal integrity / power integrity simulations thus ensuring quality and patient safety through robust & reliable design
  • Experience with requirements specification, implementation, verification and documentation
  • A strong quality mindset
  • Excellent communication skills (English) and a customer centric attitude
  • A problem solving and pragmatic approach combined with a hands-on and can-do mentality

And preferably you are familiar with:
  • Industrialization aspects of PCB and PCBA designs
  • Developing medical devices
  • Application of safety and quality standards like IEC60601-1 that are applicable to the healthcare domain
  • Affinity with hardware/software co-design and embedded software
  • Development and verification experience in mixed mode simulation using SPICE and/or VHDL-AMS
  • Signal integrity simulation and analysis of high-speed PCBA design interfaces using Mentor Graphics HyperLynx; layer stackup, attenuation losses, IBIS, SPICE and touchstone models
  • Power Integrity simulation and analysis of power delivery networks
  • Translating simulation results into functional and physical requirements for board layout
  • Multi-site development
