The IC Layout Designer is mainly responsible for the creation of analog block layouts. You will mostly work with schematic designers and section or lead layout people (and other layout designers). You job is will be to meet schedule, design, and quality requirements set by project stakeholders. Your will have the opportunity to be tapped to be a part of other development initiatives for the layout team.

Requirements


  • Minimum high school diploma (preferred Bachelor degree) in Electrical/Electronic or equivalent.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of analog and digital circuit design and specially on the physical design of IC components.
  • Linux/Unix basic proficiency desired, but not required.
  • Previous IC layout experience with Cadence desired, but not required.
  • Passion and dedication to take ownership of a task from start to finish.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills are required.
  • Diligence to work independently.
  • Commitment to collaboration and sharing knowledge with colleagues.

Responsibilities


  • Learn how to do state-of-the-art IC layout (physical design) using premier industry tools such as: Cadence, Caliber.
  • Work with a team of skilled engineers, who will mentor you.
  • Develop cell-level layout to assure it meets functional (LVS) and manufacturing requirements (DRC).
  • Collaborate with other IC layout engineers to create the final top-level IC layout.

For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
