The Role:
  • The Lead Electrical Engineer for Hardware Development will act as the lead resource on key projects and will design and develop various mixed signal motion controllers and other peripherals used in next generation of high performance automated assembly equipment. Design challenges include small form factor, analog sensing, motion control, and mixed signal design.

What You’ll Do:
  • Work with junior engineers to provide leadership and technical guidance
  • Act as the technical lead role across multiple projects.
  • Individual contribution on one or more projects.
  • Champion key development milestones and grow to the level of subject matter expert on the team.

What You’ll Bring:
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Extensive expertise in Analog and Mixed-Signal circuit design with in-depth understanding of key concepts like noise, mismatch etc.
  • In-depth design experience of high-precision voltage regulators, opamps, comparators, buck switching converters, LDOs
  • Experience with Cadence design suite for schematic entry, layout and Spice simulation

Education:
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering

Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate the Following:
  • Proven record of accomplishment to develop, debug, verify and characterize the design of electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical circuits and integrated systems.
  • Experience in hardware/firmware design using processors, FPGA, sensors, actuators, mixed signal analog and/or digital circuits via schematic entry, layout, simulation, and optimization. Design of the functional circuit is supported by analytical calculations and circuit simulation.
  • Responsible for hands-on design, review, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, verification and validation testing as well as manufacturing start-up support.
  • Review product test methods, fixtures, and results for test efficacy and product qualification.
  • Acts as lead engineer.
  • Establishes and monitors development schedules and project costs.

Skills:
  • Experience using PCB design software (Cadence/Allegro preferred).
  • Knowledge of Xilinx Vivado or ISE for FPGA design
  • Laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, data acquisition, power supplies, soldering, etc.

Physical Demands
  • Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis.
  • Position requires the ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and in giving presentations.
