This role
This role is open to remote from anywhere in the world.

We’re looking for an experienced Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer for SoC applications in recent process nodes. We're looking for candidates who have demonstrated expertise in either power management or clocking and communications with or both. The ideal candidate will have a strong first principles approach to IC design and interests in high performance computing, neural networks and ML hardware. You will work with an experienced team of IC engineers that collaborates with colleagues from other disciplines (e.g. optics, materials science, nano-fabrication) to design and implement aggressive optoelectronic hardware systems.

Areas of contribution:
  • Design and implementation of the analog and mixed-signal aspects of a novel, complex, high-performance, deeply-integrated computing system
  • Contribute to the development and stewardship of all aspects of the system including definition of specifications, system- and chip-level architecture, power and performance budgets, thermal solutions, etc.
  • Develop circuit-level solutions to address clocking and/or power management challenges in complex SoC environments

Requirements (necessary skills for this role):
  • MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on analog/RF/mixed-signal integrated circuit design or equivalent experience
  • Broad range of IC design experience including block-level circuit design as well as system level architecture
  • Deep experience with circuits and systems for SoC power management or clocking & communication links
  • Understanding of the digital design flow and exposure to RTL design and synthesis
  • Involvement in multiple IC designs through conceptualization to specification definition to tapeout and testing
  • Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools for IC design with a strong understanding of their underlying operation
  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up, debugging, test, and characterization
  • Ability to perform comprehensive laboratory characterization
  • Balance of independence and teamwork, ability to collaborate on complex cross-disciplinary systems.
  • Passion, drive, and excitement to build something that hasn’t been built before

Nice-to-haves (we will prioritize candidates that also have these skills):
  • Experience with advanced chip packaging and PCB design
  • Experience delivering complex SoC solutions
  • Experience in high speed communication standards and interfaces (e.g. HBM, PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, etc.)

Indicative salary range for this role is $110,000 - $180,000. The salary for this role will depend on the location and the experience level of the candidate.

For all roles, we target market salaries, with an additional benefits package. Our comprehensive benefits include startup equity, medical expenses coverage (including extra coverage for employees with a family).
